My husband needed to come to Sunset Ridge after a long hospital stay to get his strength back before returning home. We found the entire staff to be very friendly and helpful with all our needs.

I’ve been here for three months. This is is not the worst facility I’ve been to but there are severe issues here which can be infuriating to deal with. **Update: Originally I gave 2 stars but some very rude man just brought it down to one. I am a female and I don’t appreciate or feel safe having random men barge into my room without permission but that’s exactly what just happened. He came into my room without knocking, mumbling something about working on my TV. I tried to ask him what he was doing but he was wearing headphones and acted like he couldn’t hear me until I shouted. I said “Can I please talk to you for a minute?” He very quickly said, “I don’t work for this company and I was told to come in here.” While I was responding he left and slammed my own door in my face. So don’t expect your privacy to be respected. Also less than a week ago another man came in my room while I was sleeping to do loud power drilling in my bathroom to switch out the fixtures, for over half an hour. I was so tired that even though I was woken up right away it took me that long to be able to talk to him and find out what he was doing in my room. I told him to stop, and that I don’t even use the bathroom since I’m unable get out of bed. I certainly don’t want power drilling in my room while I’m sleeping for something cosmetic that I can’t even use.** The nursing care here SO slow. Almost every time I ask for my pain medication it takes 45 minutes to an hour or more for the nurses to bring it to me. I ask for it over and over but I usually have to call the front desk and have them page the nurse before they will bring it, and then they come within a few minutes so I know they could come sooner if they cared at all that I’m in a LOT of pain. I have asked repeatedly for them not to wake me up. I am very sick and I feel terrible when I don’t get enough sleep. However there are many days I’m woken up at 6am just so they can take my blood pressure, (which could absolutely be done later when I’ve woken up) or people will come in my room at any hour trying to wake me up because my breakfast is there, or for absolutely no reason at all. The food has at times been atrociously bad, but sometimes is pretty good. So overall it’s subpar. It started to get better but then got worse again. I tried to take up some of these issues with the lead nurse and her assistant but they were outrageously rude to me, not acknowledging my needs and just making excuses instead of assuring me they would help me. I was of course angry about this so they refused to talk to me and left my room without resolving a single thing; I had to call management. They promised to help me and things were better for a few days but today again I was woken up at 6am and I’ve now been waiting 1 hour and a quarter for my pain medication. The rooms are dated but fairly well maintained although right now the AC system isn’t working well. They are fixing it and providing fans, etc. They did help me get an air mattress when I complained the regular mattress was too hard and was hurting at night and the guys in maintenance are pretty good about helping me quickly. It can take a while to see a doctor. I asked for almost two weeks to see pain management. The oversight doctor for pain came. He made me feel attacked, asked irrelevant questions and others he should have known by reading my chart and lied to me about multiple things. He refused to up my current medication (which is standard procedure) and would only prescribe a medication I’ve already tried which didn’t work. I then saw the NP for pain management who did up my working med and he resolved the issue but it took over a week again to get to see him. Some of the CNAs are very nice and some are rude but that’s how it is everywhere and to be honest they’re better here than anywhere except for PAM. I hope management can help me fully resolve these issues so I can revise my review.

The custodians are thieves! They stole a bag with my son’s toys from my mother-in-laws room! Now I have to sue for $500 of lost property!

This place is horrible. The nurses are not knowledgeable at all. The staff is horrible. We had to get our family member out of there. He was there for a month and he developed an open sore. His back had the creases from the sheets on his back. The distilled water for the concentrator for the oxygen was empty for a week and when we complained and went back a day later it was still empty. The CNA would raise her voice at him. Mind you our family member had family visiting every day. They were supposed to apply a topical cream to his behind. The cream sat on the counter for at least 2 days. Ask the nurse a question and she would give a look “like a deer in headlights” One nurse didn’t even insert the needle properly (when my Aunt who is a retired nurse) question her, she didn’t know what to say” I can only imagine the other patients there and I wish I could speak up for the ones that don’t have anyone to speak for them. This place is the absolute worst, staff and all. I even complained and emailed the case worker and all she would say is I will email the nurses station. Nothing never got done and we complained every day and no one listened. They give you this exceptional speech when you arrive, believe it is just a speech they memorize. For the whole month did not see one doctor. And you could be sitting with your loved ones for hours and no one will come in to check on them. To top it off the whole month and longer no air conditioning. Horrible facility. PLEASE AVOID. They do not deserve 1 star. I just had to press a star to write the review because I think it is important that all are aware before considering this place for your loved ones.

My mom, May, has only said good things! Justine and Galen are very nice, helpful, and experienced. They are very patient when doing her physical therapy. And nurse Gurydemiya is extremely professional. 😊 Would definitely recommend to stay!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE They discharged me from the hospital Saturday night and put me in a facility called Sunset Ridge Post Acute. That was the worst place I’ve ever been to, it was filthy and very nasty, everyone there was moaning and crying in pain non stop, I got one dose of pain meds when I got there. They got me settled in the bed and left the room. The nurse button to call for help didn’t work, took me 90 minutes to get the attention of someone to come to the room. Other staff I spoke with said they was busy. I felt a thick bar underneath the mattress and told them and they first said I would get a new mattress in the morning. It felt like I was laying on a towel on concrete floor with a broomstick underneath me. Then after more complaining they get me another mattress that is wider but not thicker. I told them I need plywood underneath the mattress so I’m not laying over the metal bar. I got up out of bed and removed the mattress and found yellow reddish stains on the frame of the bed. Looks like urin or feces stains. They gave me a bell to ring to get staff’s attention but they closed the door so no one could hear me. When I reminded them I would be do for pain meds in one hr they said ok. Then later they said the pharmacy was closed but would open in 4 hrs at 2 am. Then the person next to had to go to dialyses and the staff asked him do you need to use the bathroom or a new diaper and he said yes I went the staff said Jesus Christ you are going to Miss the transport to the dialysis center, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Making the patient feel bad for going in the diaper. So after they took him I had some quiet time and I fell asleep. Then when someone came to take my vitals I told them please get some pain meds for me I’m 5 hrs late for my dose, but then the night nurse had left and I would have to Wait for the day shift. So I decided for my own safety was needed to get out of there. I checked out around 10 am AMA and I had to beg them to wheel me out on a wheelchair or I would have to scoot out on my rear end

I feel every division of Sunset Ridge facility deserves a different rating, but it is a conjoined team that can make a patient better. One of the key players is the Physical Therapy Team. I really grateful for Gaylen, the physical therapist, for using a perfect balance between being firm but empathetic motivation technique to help my 94-year-old dad get stronger. His dedication, professionalism and caring attitude were so appreciated. Also, thank you Ian and the DON for listening and actively trying to make Sunridge a better place!

My experience at Sunset Ridge was very positive due to the excellent care I received from staffer Stephanie Rizzo. She really impressed me and helped make my recovery a little easier. I was blessed to have met her. I would definitely return to Sunset Ridge if needed🦋😊

Sunset ridge Worst experience ever. Go there if you don’t want to get taken care. Management is worse. They have no working equipment. Too much discrimination. They don’t care if your loved one is in problem.

Stay away please choose another facility! The nurses are skipping out on giving patients their medication and we aren’t talking about aspirin we are talking about insulin , high blood pressure medications. Nurse are not checking in on there patients at all. Nurses are not reading full orders for patients meds. And then have the nerve to be snappy when you ask them why they didn’t give the meds. A name change does not change the actions of the people who work inside ! Please please find another facility for your loved one.

I would never send anyone to this facility. The rooms were not being cleaned the bed linen was changed only if the patient had an accident. The patients had a schedule when they got a shower. It was suppose to be twice a week but they were lucky to get one shower a week. At one point my aunt was told she would get another shower in 3 weeks. When the patients called for help they were lucky to see anyone respond in less than 30 minutes. The food was awful. Instead of frying breakfast sausage links they boiled them. There was one CNA named Ebony who had a bad attitude from hell. I advised the manager of nursing & i was told she was a good CNA. Ebony acted like she was mad at the whole world & prejudice. I noticed one man walking around with the same clothes for over 2 weeks. When I asked him he said he lost everything. I advised the case workers & they opened a closet full of donations of clothes. How can you allow a patient with health issues where the same clothes for over 2 weeks. I went & bought him underwear, socks,a pair of jeans & shorts. I also brought him clothes that were to big for my brother like tee shirts jeans etc. They have no compassion for the patients. The ac unit was broke so they set up fans in the hallways. Its the worse facility that I’ve ever walked into. We asked for bed rails for her bed& was told they were limited. After maintenance installed t h e railings,a glass pipe was found under the bed. The pain management doctor came in her room & stated that if she was doing illegal drugs he couldn’t prescribe her any pain meds. She is 71 yrs old n has never done any medicine except for what the doctors prescribed. All the rails on the bed had no caps on them where anyone could have put that in there. If the cleaning crew did an excellent job if cleaning the room, they would have that in the first place. But it was alright that several patients sat out front n smoked Marijuana & drank beer. The front of the building & lobby area had been refurbished but the patient rooms are dull & depressing. Before taking anyone to this facility, please do a tour & ask the patients outside if they recommend sandstone.Just because they changed the name of the facility doesn’t mean the services has gotten any better. If there was a zero for rating I would have given them it. Maybe if they upgrade there personal n improved there service,it could be a descent place. Please do a tour of the facility before putting your loved one there. You think that the owner would be reading all the negative posts n respond to them.
